This is a template for simple communications to your contacts. It can be used for service updates, press releases, or anything that will benefit from a clear, textual message.
It's also a good alternative to a plain text campaign; the message will be obvious even for contacts who don't display the images. However, unlike plain text campaigns, you can benefit from including your logo and other tools (such as social sharing icons, which we've already added below for you).
When creating your copy, remember to break your text into paragraphs. Try and get to the point so you don't lose your contacts' attention before they reach the key message. When in doubt, consider consulting George Orwell's six elementary rules:
-
Never use a metaphor, simile or other figure of speech which you are used to seeing in print.
-
Never use a long word where a short one will do.
-
If it is possible to cut out a word, always cut it out.
-
Never use the passive where you can use the active.
-
Never use a foreign phrase, a scientific word or a jargon word if you can think of an everyday English equivalent.
-
Break any of these rules sooner than say anything outright barbarous.
Having said that, remember that injecting character and personality into your copy is a sure-fire way of increasing your readership numbers.
Lastly, you can create a call to action if your campaign demands it either by adding a link to text, or by dragging in the button building block from the left.
