NOTE: on a fresh e2e-api install the User table does not contain the staging's legacy discovered columns (UserPreferences*), so this case does NOT directly exercise ComputeIntrinsic Layer 1d; the Layer 1d path is covered by the unit tests in shared/pkg/fieldcapabilities/capabilities_test.go (15 tests) which run in CI. A proper staging-replica e2e for Layer 1d would require (a) ALTER TABLE to inject a discovered column, (b) INSERT _System_Field row with Source='discovered' Required=1, (c) a POST /admin/metadata/refresh endpoint to invalidate the schema cache — (c) does not exist today; see follow-up #1653.",
