# CI Runbook

`ci` supports the pack gate. Its purpose is to prove that a pack can be
re-applied and reconciled on the target product branch without deploy-time
errors.

## Intended target model

1. branch-backed from production baseline
2. backend port `3102`
3. single-slot runtime in phase 1
4. optional human-facing routing later if needed

## What the gate cares about

1. downstream ref selection
2. upstream ref selection
3. pack rebuild and reconcile behavior
4. whether the apply path errors out

## Historical deviation to remember

1. older `ci` runs used `/tmp/envs/ci`
2. older `ci` runs were product-branch gate runtime only, not a stable host-routed site
