# Schemas

Machine-readable schemas for lakehouse design artifacts.

## Current Schemas

- [data-product-contract.authored.v0.schema.json](./data-product-contract.authored.v0.schema.json) — validates YAML-authored contracts after YAML is parsed to JSON-compatible data.
- [data-product-contract.runtime-view.v0.schema.json](./data-product-contract.runtime-view.v0.schema.json) — validates runtime-served JSON contract views.

## Versioning

Schema formats follow semantic versioning:

- Pre-1.0 may break.
- After 1.0, patch and minor versions are backward-compatible.
- Major versions may break with migration tooling and support windows.

Validate the current schemas with:
