# Enabling Cached Table

You can use the `ALTER TABLE {table_name} CACHE` statement to load a table into the TiDB server's table cache area, that is, from this TiDB server, a lease is added to the cached table, and the lease is determined by the system variable `tidb_table_cache_lease`, defaults to 3 seconds, and can range from 1 to 10 in seconds.
