# TiDB's HTAP (Hybrid Transactional/Analytical Processing) Feature

Below, we summarize the HTAP capabilities of the TiDB database:

1. Row-column mixed, TiKV and TiFlash respectively realize the row storage and column storage.

2. Smart Selection (based on CBO auto selection), in PointGet and range scan complex environments, the execution plan generated by CBO realizes the feature of automatically routing data to TiKV or TiFlash. In addition to Smart Selection, manual hints are also supported.

3. The MPP architecture implemented acceleration for aggregation and join operations on the TiFlash cluster.
