# Using Placement Rules in SQL: Step 2

+ Create **`PLACEMENT POLICY`**

Then we need to create a placement policy through `CREATE PLACEMENT POLICY` statement. Through the placement policy, we can specify the location and number of replicas of leader, follower, and learner roles in the Region.
