In 2005, Gartner proposed the concept of HTAP (hybrid transactional/analytical processing, Online Transactional Processing transactional/online Online Analytical Processing database), and in 2014, Gartner gave a clear definition of the HTAP database, HTAP data The library needs to support both OLTP and OLAP scenario.

First, the characteristics of the OLTP service can be summarized as follows:

Second, the characteristics of OLAP services can be summarized as follows:

1. Generally, column store used, and batch updates are more common.

2. The number of concurrency is low.

3. Large amounts of data at a time.

For example, our daily payments and transfers are OLTP business, and reports and real-time statistics belong to OLAP business. HTAP refers to a database technology that can support both OLTP and OLAP scenario.
