# Global Temporary Tables

__*GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE*__

+ Global temporary tables: 
  + The table definition for a global temporary table is persistent and visible to all sessions
  + The data of the global temporary table is only visible in the current transaction
  + When the transaction ends, the data is automatically cleared
  + A global temporary table cannot have the same name as a permanent table
  + Appears in **`information_schema.tables`**

- Global temporary tables are an scale of TiDB and have the following features:
  - Table definitions for global temporary tables are persistent and visible to all sessions
  - The data of the global temporary table is only visible in the current transaction, and the data is automatically cleared after the transaction ends
  - A global temporary table cannot have the same name as a normal table

You can create a global temporary table with the CREATE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE statement with ON COMMIT DELETE ROWS added to the end of the statement. You can drop a global temporary table with the DROP TABLE or DROP GLOBAL TEMPORARY
