# Cross Geo-location Database Region Placement Policy

+ Specify table to deploy to different geo-location or host
+ Enable cross geolocation application deployment
+ Ensure data local replica available for local stale read

```
tidb> SHOW PLACEMENT LABELS;
Using the Placement Rules feature, users can specify tables and partitions to be deployed to different regions and host (TiKV configuration is required). Applicable scenario include:
- Low cost optimization data high availability strategy
- Ensure local replica of data is available for local stale read
- Compliance with local data requirements, etc.
The underlying implementation of Placement Rules relies on the placement rules feature provided by PD.
