# Connect To `TiDB` Using `Connector/J`
+ Connect to the TiDB Server instance using the following method
  + Get the Connection object
    + **`DriverManager.getConnection(URL[, username[, password]])`**  
    + The return value is a Connection instance

Call the DriverManager.getConnection() method to create the connection and retrieve a Connection object that maintains information about the state of the connection.
