# `DEALLOCATE` Phase
+ Prepared statement consumes memory. To free the space, you must deallocate the statement
+ The server automatically releases the prepared statement when you do the following:
    + Redefine another prepared statement with the same name
    + Disconnect from `TiDB` server
+ You can explicitly deallocate it with one of the following statements:
  + **`DEALLOCATE PREPARE`** 
  + **`DROP PREPARE`**
