# Select Basic Syntax
__*SELECT Basic Syntax*__
+ **SELECT** is the most commonly used SQL statement
  + Retrieves rows from a table
  + Returns rows in the form of a two-dimensional table
+ **column_list** is a list of column names that make up the result set:
  + Separate items in the list with commas **,**
  + Use an `*` to include all columns
```12
~!@SELECT@!~ [clause options] column_list
    [~!@FROM@!~ table_name]
    [~!@WHERE@!~ condition]
    [~!@ORDER BY@!~ sort_list]
    [~!@LIMIT@!~ output_count];
```
------------------------------------------------------------
Note: In a real-world environment, queries using SELECT * are prohibited. It is recommended to select the appropriate column column according to your needs, to prevent direct SELECT * from reading all the fields, reduce network bandwidth consumption, and make efficient use of the index.
