# Showing Sql Mode

__*SQL_MODE*__

+ Shows the current SQL mode:
 + `select @@global.sql_mode;`
 + `select @@session.sql_mode;`
 + `select @@sql_mode;`
+ Default SQL mode:
```8
mysql> select substring_index(@@sql_mode,',',4);
+---------------------------------------------------------------------+
substring_index(@@sql_mode,',',4)
+---------------------------------------------------------------------+
ONLY_FULL_GROUP_BY,~!@STRICT_TRANS_TABLES@!~,NO_ZERO_IN_DATE,NO_ZERO_DATE
+---------------------------------------------------------------------+
1 row in set (0.01 sec)
mysql> select substring_index(@@sql_mode,',',-4);
+------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
substring_index(@@sql_mode,',',-4)
+------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
NO_ZERO_DATE,ERROR_FOR_DIVISION_BY_ZERO,NO_AUTO_CREATE_USER,NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITUTION
+------------------------------------------------------------------------------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)
```

------------------------------------------------------------
The presence of STRICT_TRANS_TABLES means that TiDB is in strict mode by default.

We will talk about strict mode later.
