# Raft Leader Election (Contiune...)

------------------------------------------------------------
We just introduced the election timeout triggering the elect. Next, let's assume that the leader in the cluster where data is being replicated suddenly goes down (or the network is isolated). Due to the heartbeat time interval (the leader sends heartbeat interval), it is not received for a long time. After the leader's heartbeat, there will be followers who increment their term identity, change themselves to the role of candidate, and vote for themselves. At the same time, launch a voting request to the other nodes of the cluster, including the term value you just incremented. As a result, the voting process above was repeated, so that a new leader was created again soon.
