# Kv Mapping

+ Data in TiDB is stored as KV key-value pairs in RocksDB
+ The basic unit of data storage management is Region
+ The default size of each region is 96 MB
+ Each region divides the data storage range according to the left, closed and right interval, for example: `[a~ d), [d ~ g)` 
+ Each SCHEMA is assigned a unique tableID
