# `TiDB/MySQL` Connectors

__*zz-BGL*__

+ `TiDB/MySQL` supported connectors:
  + `Connector/J` supports `Java Database Connectivity (JDBC) API` standard
+ `Connector/ODBC` supports the `Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) API` standard
+ `Connector/NET` enables developers to create `.NET` applications that connect to `TiDB`
+ `Connector/Python` provides driver support, supports `Python` applications to connect to `TiDB`, and conforms to `Python DB API Specification v2.0`
+ `Connector/C++` enables `C++` applications to connect to `TiDB` servers
  + `Connector/C` is a stand-alone version of the `C Client Library (libmysqlclient)`

-------------------------------------------------------------

`TiDB` works with several application programming interfaces also known as database drivers. These `APIs` and drivers act as bridges to the `MySQL` server for client programs that communicate using a particular protocol.

The drivers comprise the family of `MySQL` connectors. They are available as separate packages.

The `MySQL` connectors are available for `Windows`, `Linux/Unix`, and `macOS`. To use a connector, you must install it on the client host. It is not necessary for the server to be running on the same machine or for the server to be running the same operating system as the client. Therefore, `MySQL` connectors are very useful for providing `TiDB/MySQL` connectivity in heterogeneous environments. For example, people who use `Windows` machines can run client applications that access `TiDB` located on a `Linux` server.

Following training courses are available to teach you how to connect to `TiDB`, execute `SQL` statements and process the results by using the specific programming interfaces:
