# `Grafana` Introduction
+ `Grafana` is an observability platform that TiDB uses for metrics analysis and visualization
+ `TiDB` uses `Grafana` to display the performance metrics and group them as follows for example:
  + `Backup-Restore`
  + `Binlog`
  + `Disk-Performance`
  + `Lightning`
  + `Node_exporter`
  + `PD`
  + `Performance-Read` and `Performance-Write`
  + `TiDB`, `TiKV` and `TiFlash`
  + `TiCDC`

Grafana is responsible for querying the time series data stored in the `Prometheus` at a certain interval and visualizing the results. `Grafana` is an open source project for analyzing and visualizing metrics. `TiDB` uses Grafana to display the performance metrics and group them as follows:
- `Backup-Restore`: Monitoring metrics related to backup and restore.
- `Binlog`: Monitoring metrics related to TiDB Binlog.
- `Blackbox_exporter`: Monitoring metrics related to network probe.
- `Disk-Performance`: Monitoring metrics related to disk performance.
- `Kafka-Overview`: Monitoring metrics related to Kafka.
- `Lightning`: Monitoring metrics related to TiDB Lightning.
- `Node_exporter`: Monitoring metrics related to the operating system.
