# Using `TiDB Lightning`: Running a Task or Resuming a Task from the Last Checkpoint

+ Run a new task with `checkpoint` enabled (you can enable checkpoint via configuration file or command line):
  + **_`1)`_** Create the task configuration file
  + **_`2)`_** Run the task with the created configuration file
+ Resume the task from the last `checkpoint`:
  + **_`1)`_** Fix the errors encountered during last import task if applicable
  + **_`2)`_** Run the task with the the same configuration file and command line options
+ For example
  + Run the import task by using `nohup` with a configuration file `tidb-lightning.toml`

$ nohup tiup tidb-lightning -config tidb-lightning.toml > nohup.out &
```

Run `tiup tidb-lightning`. If you start the program with `nohup` directly from the command line, it may abort due to the `SIGHUP` signal. It is recommended to put `nohup` in the script.
