# Using `TiDB Lightning` Web Interfaces

+ `TiDB Lightning` also provides web interfaces for
  + Tasks management
  + Import tasks progress checking
+ Enable web interface by:
  + Command line
  + Global configuration in configuration file
+ For examples:

```
~!@// Command line@!~
$ tiup tidb-lightning --server-mode --status-addr :8289
~!@// Configuration file@!~
[lightning]
server-mode = true
status-addr = ':8289'
...
$ tiup tidb-lightning -config lightning-server.toml
```

-------------------------------------------------------------
`TiDB Lightning` provides a webpage for viewing the import progress and performing some simple task management. This is called the server mode.

To enable server mode, either start `tidb-lightning` with the `--server-mode` flag or set the `server-mode` global setting in the configuration file.

Command line example:
```
tiup tidb-lightning --server-mode --status-addr :8289
```

Global configuration example:
```
[lightning]
server-mode = true
status-addr = ':8289'
```

After `TiDB Lightning` is launched, visit `http://{ip_address}:8289` to use the program.

In server mode, `TiDB Lightning` does not start running immediately. Rather, users submit (multiple) tasks via the web interface to import data.
