# TiDB Log Backup and PITR

+ A full backup (snapshot backup) contains full cluster data at a certain point
+ A log backup back up TiKV change log in a timely manner
+ When performing point-in-time recovery (PITR), you can combine log backups and a full backup.
+ Log backup must be initiated before a full backup
