The following are TiDB production deployment requirements

notice

TiDB and PD in a production environment can be deployed and run on the same server. If you have higher requirements for performance and reliability, you should deploy them separately as much as possible.

Higher configurations are highly recommended for production environments.

TiKV hard drive size configurations recommend no more than 2 TB for PCI-E SSDs and 1.5 TB for normal SSDs.

TiFlash supports multi-disk deployment.

The first disk in the TiFlash data directory is recommended to use a high-performance SSD to buffer the real-time write of TiKV synchronous data. The performance of this disk should be no less than the disk used by TiKV, such as a PCI-E SSD. And the disk capacity is recommended to be no less than 10% of the total capacity, otherwise it may become a bottleneck for the amount of data this node can carry. Other disks can be deployed as many regular SSDs as needed. Of course, a better PCI-E SSD drive will bring better performance.

TiFlash and TiKV are recommended to be deployed on different nodes. If TiFlash and TiKV must be deployed on the same node, the CPU cores and memory should be appropriately increased, and TiFlash and TiKV should be deployed on different disks as much as possible to avoid mutual interference.

The total TiFlash hard drive capacity is roughly: the data capacity to be synchronized for the entire TiKV cluster/the number of TiKV replica *The number of TiFlash replica. For example, if the planned capacity of the overall TiKV is 1 TB, the number of TiKV replicas is 3, and the number of TiFlash replicas is 2, the recommended total TiFlash capacity is 1024 GB/3* 2. Users can choose to synchronize part of the table data instead of all of it. The specific capacity can be analyzed according to the data volume of the table that needs to be synchronized.

1 TB+ PCIE-SSD is recommended for TiCDC hard drive configurations.
