notice

TiDB only supports Oracle Enterprise Linux with Red Hat Compatible Kernel (RHCK), and does not support the Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel provided by Oracle Enterprise Linux.

TiDB has been tested extensively on CentOS 7.3, and the community also has many best practices for deploying this operating system. Therefore, it is recommended to use CentOS 7.3 or later 7.x Linux operating systems to deploy TiDB.

The above Linux operating systems can run on physical servers as well as VMware, KVM, and XEN mainstream virtualization environments.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.0, CentOS 8 Stream, and Oracle Enterprise Linux 8.0 are not supported at this time, as testing for these platforms is still ongoing.

There are no plans to support CentOS 8 Linux as upstream support for CentOS ended on December 31, 2021.

TiDB will no longer support Ubuntu 16.04. Upgrading to Ubuntu 18.04 or later is highly recommended.

Other Linux operating system versions (such as Debian Linux and Fedora Linux) may be able to run TiDB, but TiDB is not officially supported.
