TiDB Cloud offers the following two cluster options. Before you create a TiDB cluster, consider which option is best for your needs:

Developer tier

The Developer Tier has a one-year free trial of TiDB Cloud, which is a fully managed service for TiDB. You can use Developer Tier clusters for non-production workloads such as prototype applications, hackathons, academic courses, or to provide ad hoc data services for non-commercial datasets.

Dedicated tier

TiDB Cloud Dedicated Tier is dedicated to production use and offers the benefits of high availability across availability zone, horizontal scale, and HTAP.
