The TiDB database is 100% compatible with the MySQL 5.7 protocol and the functions and syntax commonly used by MySQL 5.7. However, TiDB also has some MySQL features that are not yet supported, such as foreign keys, stored procedures, function, and triggers. Also, the MySQL replication protocol is not supported, but the TiDB database uses a special tool to support it.
