# Rebuilding a Cluster

+ Step 2: Rebuild the cluster

There are actually two steps to rebuilding a cluster:
Step 1: Destroy the cluster

Destroying a cluster shuts down services, empties the data directory and deployment directory, and cannot be recover. Care must be taken.

tiup cluster destroy $ {cluster-name}

Step 2: Rebuild the cluster
