# Using BR - Single Library Backup

__*Using BR*__
__*BR single library backup*__

```
br backup db \
    --pd "${PDIP}:2379" \
    --db test \
    --storage "s3://backup-data/db-test/2022-01-30/" \
    --ratelimit 128 \
    --log-file backuptable.log
```
-------------------------------------------------------------
To back up data for a specified single database in a cluster, use the br backup db command. You can also use br backup db —help to get help with the subcommand db.

Use case: Back up the database test to the db-test/2022-01-30/ prefix directory under the bucket named backup-data in S3.

br backup db\
    —pd "$ {PDIP} :2379"\
    —db test\
    —storage "s3://backup-data/db-test/2022-01-30/"\
    —ratelimit 128\
    —log-file backuptable.log

The option of the db subcommand is —db, which is used to specify the database name. The other options have the same meaning as backing up a TiDB cluster snapshot.
