# Using DMs - Deploying

__*Using DM*__
__*DM deployment*__

```
tiup dm deploy dm-test ${version} ./topology.yaml --user root [-p] [-i /home/root/.ssh/gcp_rsa]
```
-------------------------------------------------------------
In the above deployment command:

The cluster name deployed via TiUP DM is dm-test.
The deployment version is $ {version}, you can check the latest version supported by TiUP by executing tiup list dm-master.
The initialization configuration file is topology.yaml.
—user root: Log in to the target host as the root user to complete the cluster deployment. This user needs to have ssh permission to the target machine and sudo privilege on the target machine. You can also use other users with ssh and sudo privilege complete the deployment.
-i and -p: Optional. If you have configured password-free login to the target machine, you do not need to fill them in. Otherwise, you can select one of them. -i is the private key for the root user (or another user specified by —user) that can log in to the target machine, or you can use -p to interactively enter the user's password.
TiUP DM uses the built-in SSH client. If you need to use the system's own SSH client, refer to the section Connecting to a cluster using the SSH client that comes with the central computer system in the TiUP DM documentation to set it up.
The deployed cluster `dm-test` deployed keyword is expected at the end of the log output, indicating that the deployment was successful.

Note:
Cluster deployment through TiUP can be used for security authentication using a secret key or interactive password:
If it is a key method, you can specify the path to the key with -i or —identity_file;
If it is a password method, you can enter the password interaction window with -p;
If you have configured password-free login to the target machine, you do not need to fill in authentication.
