# Using TiCDC - Scale-Up Deployment

Currently, it is also supported to add new TiDc components using TiUP on the original TiDB cluster. The operation steps are as follows:

First, confirm that the current TiDB version supports TiDc. Otherwise, you need to upgrade your TiDB cluster to 4.0.0 rc.1 or later. TiCDC is GA at version 4.0.6, and it is recommended to use version 4.0.6 and later.
