# Incremental data replication - Start the replication task

Use `tiup dmctl` to run the following command to start the data replication task:

tiup dmctl:v6.5.1 --master-addr=${HOST_DM_MASTER_IP}:8261 start-task dm-task.yaml
${HOST_DM_MASTER_IP}:8261 of any DM-master node in the cluster where dmctl is to be connected. For example: 172.80.21.111:8261
start-task: Starts the migration task.

If the task fails to start, check the prompt message and fix the configuration. After that, you can `re-run` the command above to start the task.
