# Updating the Statistics from Single TiDB Server Instance

Let's explain the process by which statistics updates are propagated to other nodes while the TiDB database is operational. 

In this illustration, TiDB Server 2 has undergone a statistics update, which could be executed either manually or automatically. The most recent statistical data resides in the memory of TiDB Server 2. Conversely, TiDB Server 1 and TiDB Server 3 continue to retain outdated statistical information in their respective memory. Similarly, the statistics within TiKV also remain outdated.
