# Verifying Statistics Using `EXPLAIN` Command

+ Currently, the table is empty. The optimizer assumes that using index would be more efficient.

```
In the given example, an empty table T2 is created with the `id` column designated as the primary key, accompanied by a secondary index `idx_pname` on the `pname` column.
Since the T2 table currently contains no data, no statistics have been collected. In the absence of data-specific statistics, the optimizer relies on general heuristics to assume that utilizing the index would be more efficient.
