## Summary

TiDB Cloud extends TiDB's capabilities by providing a fully managed, MySQL-compatible database experience. This multi-tenant platform lets you focus entirely on your applications, without the burden of managing underlying infrastructure. In this workshop, you have successfully:

- Migrate your Laravel application from MySQL to TiDB Cloud without modifying any code.
- Compared to MySQL, TiDB allows for online schema changes.
- Changing the table's `AUTO_INCREMENT` attribute to `AUTO_RANDOM` leverage the distributed SQL ability to avoid hotspots.

It's also worth mentioning that TiDB has gained strong support from the open-source community. For example, [Colopl](https://colopl.co.jp/) has developed a [Laravel database driver for TiDB](https://github.com/colopl/laravel-tidb), which natively supports TiDB-specific features such as the `AUTO_RANDOM` attribute.

If you'd like to review the principles and more foundational information about AUTO_RANDOM and Online Schema Change, please visit [Introduction to TiDB Cloud](/labs/demo_203).

Or, you can now start your own TiDB Cloud journey [here](https://tidbcloud.com/clusters). If you had been using your own free-tier cluster for this lab, you'll find it listed on the same page, the cluster name is ${LAB:SERVERLESS_CLUSTER_NAME}.
