SaaS (Software-as-a-Service) applications often require highly scalable and multi-tenant friendly features to handle numerous customers with diverse workloads. TiDB, as a distributed SQL database, provides several practical features that enhance the flexibility, performance, and operational efficiency of SaaS applications.

In this hands-on lab, you will explore four modules designed around TiDB features highly valuable in the SaaS industries. These tasks include rapidly creating thousands of schemas and tables, performing seamless online schema changes, and applying global execution plan bindings to standardize query execution across multiple schemas.

The following diagram shows the deployment topology of the TiDB cluster for this lab.
