# `ACID`

+ ***`Atomic:`*** The transaction is either fully applied to the database or not at all - "Everything happens or nothing happens"
+ ***`Consistent:`*** Maintains data integrity constraints​
+ ***`Isolation:`*** Changes made by multiple transactions are visible to each other based on the isolation level that is set, multiple transactions that modify the same data at the same time leave the database in a consistent state
+ ***`Durable:`*** Changes are written to the database as soon as the transaction completes, the results of the changes persist​ even in the case of system failure
