# Evaluating HA and Consistency of `Raft`
+ Recovery from failure
  + Minority `Follower` failures do not affect `Leader` service
  + When `Leader` fails, `Followers` will automatically start election triggered by timeout
  + As long as majority of the nodes survive, they are able to choose a new `Leader` and recover the service
+ Consistency
  + During write, `Leader` ensures that logs are replicated to most nodes
  + As long as majority nodes survive, at least one of them has the latest log
    + `Raft` protocol always selects the one containing latest log as `Leader`
    + No data loss
