# Backup Requirements and Impact
+ `BR`:
  + No special requirements
  + Can be executed from the control machine
+ `TiKV` node: 
  + Available disk space is enough to host a copy of all data
  + Disk `I/O` is main limiting factor of speed
  + OPS may be reduced, for example:
    + `≤ 10,000 reads/s/(4 TiKV × 16 cores)`
    + `≤ 6,000 updates/s/(4 TiKV × 16 cores)`
  + Latency will be significantly increased (from milliseconds up to 1 second)
