# Backup Process: `TiKV`
+ For every recorded region:
  + Push down a **`BackupRequest`** to the `leader TiKV store` (or any available member) 
+ With receiving the **`BackupRequest`** each `TiKV store` will
  + **_Scan for entries in the given key range_**
    + Dump `"default"` and `"write"` column families (`CF`)
    + Store `"Put"` and `"Delete"` records
    + Ignore `"Lock"` records which has no data
    + Ignore `"Rollback"` records which is generated by failed transactions
  + Write to a temporary `SST` file
  + Copy the `SST` file into the target storage (with rate limit)
+ The `SST` file names are uniquely named as
  + **`{StorageID}_{RegionID}_{RegionEpoch}_{StartKeyHash}_{CF}.sst`**
