# Second Step: Delete Ranges

+ The data range will be marked as deleted
  + The time of delete operation is also recorded

+ When the `Delete Ranges` phase runs:
  + Check all marked ranges, if range matches **`delete time ≤ safe point`**:
    + Send **`UnsafeDestroyRange`** requests to all `TiKV` nodes to delete the data
    + **`UnsafeDestroyRange`** bypasses `Raft` on `TiKV` side
