# Third Step: `GC` All Keys

+ `TiDB` store the `safe point` to somewhere in `PD` as a notification to `TiKV`

+ `TiKV` checks the `safe point` periodically, if the `safe point` updated, starts `GC` on the current node
  + Each `TiKV` node runs independently
