# Third Step: GC All Keys

+ Since `v5.0`:
  + Compaction filter disabled:
    + Mostly the same as the version before `v4.0`, except that reads and writes bypasses the `Raft` layer, and it scans both `leaders` and `non-leaders`
  + Compaction filter enabled (default):
    + A large portion of the keys can be filtered out during the compaction of `RocksDB`
