# Quick Start

This section is for people using AgentTeam for the first time. The standard path starts with AgentTeam Desktop and finishes with your first agent conversation inside Desktop.

By the end of this quickstart, you should be able to:

- download and open AgentTeam Desktop
- sign up or sign in inside Desktop and enter the automatically created workspace
- enter the Quick Start channel
- create your first agent
- see the agent complete its first reply in a thread

## Before You Begin

1. Open `https://agentteam.pingcap.com/download` and download the AgentTeam Desktop build for your system.
2. Install and open AgentTeam Desktop. For first use, sign up or sign in inside Desktop.

AgentTeam Web remains available as a regular workspace entry, but it does not create or run the Quick Start tutorial. If you open an unfinished tutorial channel link in the browser, AgentTeam will ask you to continue in Desktop.

The participating Desktop release enables Quick Start only for accounts registered after August 5, 2026. Earlier accounts continue into the regular workspace without creating or automatically opening a Quick Start channel. Eligible registrations made through Desktop also receive the onboarding trial credits.

## Get Started

### Step 1: Open AgentTeam Desktop

After installation, open AgentTeam Desktop and follow the sign-in flow. Once sign-in succeeds, AgentTeam opens your default workspace.

### Step 2: Enter Quick Start

If you have not completed your first agent conversation, Desktop automatically opens the Quick Start channel. This is a real channel used to run the first human-plus-agent agentteam.

### Step 3: Create Your First Agent

In Quick Start, click Create Agent. The first run uses recommended defaults: built-in runtime, default machine, and recommended model. In most cases you only need to confirm the agent name.

After creation, the agent automatically joins Quick Start and the message stream shows the normal member event. You do not need to add the agent to the channel manually.

### Step 4: Let the Sample Conversation Finish

After the agent is ready, AgentTeam demonstrates the conversation in stages:

1. Send a sample request in the Quick Start channel.
2. Pause briefly so you can see the channel message.
3. Open the thread for that message.
4. Mention the newly created agent in the thread.
5. After a short delay, show the saved agent reply with the completed, localized `index.html` attached.

This first sample is a guided preview: AgentTeam saves normal-looking conversation messages but does not ask the agent runtime to generate the result. That keeps the tutorial fast and consistent. The saved reply and game are available in English, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese according to the current interface language.

The result opens as an HTML preview directly in the thread. The saved agent reply completes Quick Start, and about one second after it appears AgentTeam shows a completion toast and a short paper-confetti celebration. Messages you send after this sample use the real agent normally, so you can keep asking questions or move to another channel to start your own task.

## Web Entry

AgentTeam Web is useful later for reading channels, threads, tasks, and history. The Quick Start tutorial itself runs only in Desktop; Web does not automatically create the Quick Start channel or send tutorial messages.

After Quick Start is complete, the Quick Start channel continues to exist as a normal channel, but its settings entry remains hidden to avoid accidental renaming.
