# TiDB Top SQL Other aggregation

Apply to the `Other`, `Others`, or `Other Statements` bucket in the TiDB
Dashboard Top SQL query view, or an explicitly equivalent query-tail summary.
Do not infer the meaning of an unrelated field from the word `Other` alone.

`Other` is the combined aggregate of the long-tail queries outside the displayed
Top N. It is not one query whose SQL text or Digest has yet to be identified.
The bucket's membership depends on the selected node, time range, ranking, and
Top N limit. Older Top SQL documentation describes Top 5; the current view can
use different limits, so do not assume a fixed N.

An execution count attached to this bucket is the combined count for its
member queries, not the execution count of a single query. Its CPU total or
share likewise describes their combined contribution. A large aggregate does
not establish that any one member has a large individual contribution, nor
identify any member's SQL, Digest, execution plan, or business request.

Describe it as the long-tail query aggregate. It remains useful for comparing
the displayed Top N with the remainder of the captured workload. The bucket
has no single SQL identity or representative execution plan to retrieve;
individual-query facts require separately identified query records. Do not
describe it as one unidentified high-frequency query or try to match the whole
bucket to one customer-supplied SQL.
