# dataplane-exporter

`dataplane-exporter` is a dedicated internal service for dataplane-scoped metrics exporting.

The first version exposes a Prometheus `/metrics` endpoint and ships:

- `dataplane_component_node_vcpu`, built on top of Kubernetes node and pod snapshots read from a controller-runtime cache
- `dataplane_resource_pool_cpu_limit`, built from dataplane namespaces plus the shared pool vCPU ceiling `ResourceQuota`

## Scope

- Exposes `/metrics` and `/healthz`
- Computes snapshots at scrape time from the Kubernetes cache
- Ships two exporters: `component-node-vcpu` and `resource-pool-cpu-limit`

## Not Yet Implemented

- Background metric snapshot refresh
- Cloud API sources
- Additional dataplane exporters

Future evolution can add cached snapshot readers without changing exporter metric schemas.
