# DBaaS Operation

This document will describe common operations in dbaas.

## Add/Update machine type in dbaas

- Adding the new machine type in [cloud profile](https://github.com/tidbcloud/dbaas/tree/master/deploy/garden/crop/components/gardencontent/profiles/provider) for gardener.
- Adding db [migrate](https://github.com/tidbcloud/dbaas/tree/master/central/migrate/central_migrate_record) to upsert the new machine type and price for existing data.
- Update the [seed](https://github.com/tidbcloud/dbaas/blob/master/central/db/seed/seed.go) file to use the new machine type and price for new tenant.
- Update the [region](https://github.com/tidbcloud/dbaas/blob/master/central/cli/region.go) file to use the new machine type for new component profile.

e2e will be failed if the new machine type does not exist before. 
It can be fixed in two ways:
- [recommendation] Split the pull request - Changing the code after the cloud profile is merged.
- Add the new machine type in cloud profile manually.
