## Git & PR Workflow

Pull requests should target the **`main`** branch.

### Deploying to the Dev Environment

Merging a PR into `main` does **not** deploy to the dev environment. To deploy `main` to dev after a PR is merged:

1. Check out the `dev` branch locally.
2. Merge `main` into `dev`.
3. Push `dev` to origin — this triggers the dev deployment.

git pull origin dev
git merge main
git push origin dev
```

### Pre-PR Dev Testing (Optional)

If you need to verify changes in dev before opening a PR, you may merge your feature branch directly into `dev` and push. This is exceptional — the normal flow is to open a PR to `main` first, then deploy to dev as described above.
