# 2023-04-13-14:31:16+0800 Upgrade eks dataplanes who don't have tidb clusters

- Cause: EKS v1.21 is end of support, we need to upgrade eks dataplanes to v1.22 before 2023-05-01.

- Operation:
  - Get all v1.21 eks dataplanes who don't have tidb clusters:

    - prod-1372813089206451515-eks-ap-northeast-1-5f4332dd

    - prod-1372813089206571368-eks-us-west-2-87d43125
    - prod-1372813089206601342-eks-us-west-2-f236f51e
  - Confirm again there are no tidb clusters in these eks dataplanes
  - Pause the corresponding network CR, update its eks CR's `.spec.forProvider.version` to v1.22
  - When the eks dataplane is upgraded, unpause the corresponding network CR

- Impact: might experience minor service interruptions during the upgrade

- Recovery operation: Irreversible operation
