HOW TO DEPLOY:

This application is meant to run on AWS Lambda and we expect:

2 private subnets to deploy the lambda
1 public subnet to configure the nat gatway 
1 rds instance with no internet access

All the lambda calls are made using amazon API gatway. Please see the api.swagger file for an example.


Step by step instructions:

1. Create a VPC and/or the 2 private subnet and 1 public subnet
2. Create a bastion host on the public subnet
3. Create an rds instance and configure the user and password (see file database for more info)
4. Make sure the database can talk to the private network and also with the bastion
5. Deploy the lambda function on the private network (please notice that the default is no VPC)
6. Configure the API gateway (check file swagger for more info) -
    We need to check use lambda proxy and also enable CORS and enable security (API KEY)
    all the methods calls the same lambda function with no other parameter. create the GET, POST, DELETE method.
7. Configure the API key, we will use this API key in the front end.
8. Use the API endpoint created in the front end to make calls to the lambda function
